It was made by Lenon-McCartney. But essentially Jhon Lenon made it. the lead vorcal is Jhon Lenon. The conbition of the threebeats and four beats is one ob the his style. But we never hear it difficult. The positive lyrics that were expressed by double negatives are also impressive. jhon said "It did not take 30 minutes to make the song. But it took a week to sing this song perfectly." In the intro of this song, many famouse melody are played-"La Marseillaise",the French national antherme, and J.S.Bach's"Invention No.8 BWV779"and the intro of "In The Mood" that aws played by Glenn Miller Orchestra and "Green Srivusu",one of the England falk songs, and the beatls' "She Loves You"-.
This song were made for "OUR WORLD", the universal broadcast special progrem,that used universal communication satellite and that was broadcast to 31 countries in 1965, june 25.
In this program, the beatles broadcast their recording scene around the world. Just after the live broadcast, Ring changed a part of Jhon's vorcal and role of the snare drum, and they recorded again. So there is a difference between the live broadcast version and the released version. And this song made the beatles hero from the hippie in west side of America.
After this song was released as a single in 1967, in UK this song was recorded in "Magical Mistery tour". And becouse it was used in the animated movie, "Yellow Submarine", in which beatles was heroes. In this movie, this song is used where beatles defeated the monsters that vandalizzed Pepperland by music.
In 2002 june 3, at the 50th anniversary concert, this song was sang by all persons present. Paul MaCartney also played main vorcal and a bass guitar. This was the first time Paul sang this song in public after dissollution of beatles.
In Japan many companies use this song. For example "Sapporo Beer","NTT docomo". And in "Ponkiki-zu" Japanese animation this song is used. But it is not easy to get the allowance of using beatles'original sound souces, if it was allowed, fee to use the song is very high. So the cover version is used.
Although I don't remember when I heard this song at the first time. I remember that I heard this song in English class when I was 16 years old. My English teacher used this song toteach a relative pronoun . Because there are many beatles' songs that have easy words, in Japan beatles'songs are often used in English class.
