HISTORY(1960-1964)


This week, I'll  write about their history.

In 1962 

In 1942, on June 6, they auditioned for EMI at Abbey Road studios in London.They played six songs in front of George Martin who is a producer, and they admirably passed the audition. But George Martin frowned on Pete's drum,so Pete was forced to leave THE BEATLES. Instead, Ringo Starr joined as a new member drums of their band. The new BEATLES decided to debut song was  " LOVE ME DO " . " LOVE ME DO " reached 21 place on the single chart of paper " Melody Marker ", however, there was no one who was satisfied with this result.



In 1963

Their second single " PLEASE PLEASE ME " was reached the top spot of the chats on February 15th. On March 22, they released the album " PLEASE PLEASE ME ". This album really continued to dominate the No'1 spot in the UK. album charts over 30 weeks (8 months) ! They expanded into a UK's living room. On October 13, they appeared on the  most popular TV show in UK " Sunday Night at London".and rating had reached more than 50% ! So this TV show was watched by 15 million English people. From tfis day, the word " BEATLES mania " was started to use.



In 1964

In 1963, just one year from their debut, they were already a huge success in many countries throughout the UK and Europe. So in 1964, they released " I Want to Hold Your Hand " which is first debut singie in America and reached the top place in America. The debut album in the Amarica " Meet THE BEATLES " recorded 1 spot on the paper " billboard ", and kept 1 spot over 17 weeks. A power of THE BEATLES landed in America did not stop. In the singles chart paper " billboard ", dated Aplil 4, all of the top five songs from 5 to 1 was filled with their songs. This record is unusual and never be broken before or ever after. This record represents the whirlwind of THE BEATLES at that time that can be called abnormal.By the way, that five songs were
1.  Can't Buy Me Love
2. Twist And Shout
3. She Love You
4. I Want to Hold Your Hand
5. Please Please ME
Until June 29 from June 4, they performed the world's first tour. In this year, they performed in Denmark, the Netherlands, HongKong, Australia, NewZealand. They appeared on TV show " Ed Sullivan Show " which was popular in America. The episode that " During the 10 minutes that THE BEATLES had been playing, there were no crime of youth in New York " was made in this day. In July, " A Hard Day's Night " which is their first movie was compleated. This movie was druwn on how the live tour of the BEATLES at that time, and  it have made known to the world people the charm of THE BEATLES.

MEMBERS

Hello!

In this blog, I'm going to writing about  THE BEATLES .
Today, I'll write about MEMBERS .
 
THE BEATLES is composed of four members,"John Lennon, Paul McCartney,George Harrison, Ringo Starr".
 
So, would like to introduce each members .
  


"John Lennon"
 

John Lennon (1940 – 1980)

John Lennon was born in Liverpool 0n Oct 9 in1940.He came out as THE BEATLES in1962. He is the leader of THE BEATLES and until THE BEATLES broke up in 1970                                

, he had made many hit songs ( he did songwriting ) , for example “ All you need is love, HELP!, Hey Jude, Let it be … etc”, with Paul McCartney. In THE BEATLES he worked as vocal and the guitar. He married with Ono Yoko who is Japanese artist in 1969.

 

{Relationship with Paul McCartney}

After THE BEATLES broke up, deep feud was present between John and Paul, so they slandered each other in each other’s music. But, since middle of 1970, they began to regain a friendship. John said “ The person who can speak evil of Pail is me. I don’t allow the other to say Paul’s slander. So I think John loved Paul.

On December 8, 1980, when he got out of his car John was fired by Mark Chapman and died. I will write about it later.

 




"Paul McCartney"

Paul McCartney (1942- )

Paul McCartney was born in Liverpool in 1942. He is the member of THE BEATLES. He works as vocal and the base. He is one of the most popular musicians in the world. He has been certified as the most successful composer of popular music history by the Guinness World Records. He makes many hit songs with John Lennon. His evaluation as a bassist is very high and his base line gave a great influence on later bassist of the rock band. He can play not also the base but the piano, the drams, the keyboard and the synthesizer so he is known as “ a multi-player who can play the all instrument which is needed in the rock band. He sang a song at he opening ceremony of the Olympics in London this year. He is still a leading authority of the music.






"George Harrison"


George Harrison ( 1943-2001)

He was born in Liverpool in 1943. His name “George” derive from George 6 who was king of UK in 1943. He worked as the guitar as THE BEATLES. He is the youngest member in THE BEATLES. He is activity to the introduction of various instruments, for example” sitar which is Indian instrument, electric 12-string guitar, synthesizer”, and he had a great impact on the later raga-rock. He was taking the nickname of “ The Quiet BEATLES”. But he had most interaction with external musician in THE BEATLES. As a song writer, he was an inconspicuous presence because he was hidden behind Paul McCartney. But his making music is good.



 
"Ringo Starr"




 




Ringo Starr (1940-)

He was born in Liverpool. He is a drummer of THE BEATLES. His true name is Richard Starkey. Before he joined THE BEATLES as a drummer in 1962, had been a drummer of “Rory Sturms and The Hurricanes”. Why did he call “Ringo Starr?? Ringo was named when he was in Hurricanes. He liked rings and he wore many rings so he was called “ Rings”. It is why he called Ringo.
